You’re invited to my February Art Shows!
Hey hey creators. This is Aramis and you are listening to the A.O. Blogcast. I'm gonna try to keep it short today. I have a few updates for y'all. Let's dive right on in. First up, the shop updates: I am happy to report that the classics are back y'all! So, the Unicorn, the cosmic queens y'all like with the sunglasses and the stars and the galaxies and the curls? All the girls are there! So y'all can head on over to our new home, which is shop.aohamer.com and you can find all of those lovely goodies.
Let me know in the comments if y'all received your postcard. I absolutely love sending out postcards because if you're anything like me, you probably feel overwhelmed by social media. There's so many people you following. So for y'all, I'm like, let me send you a little goodie in the mail. Thank you all so much for all your continuous contributions to my expansions. Okay, so we're gonna keep expanding out here. And there's a whole lotta things I'm working on. But for now, I'm just slowly rolling out things in the shop. So we have the unicorn prints as well as the clutch bags now available.
The other announcements is I'm back out in the streets! So if you are local, and if you are in Seattle, I got a couple of events coming up in the month of February. So y'all know it's Black History Month so Happy Black History Month! I'm late telling you that, but maybe if you watch the YouTube channel, you probably already heard me say Happy Black History Month. But February, they keep us busy as a Black artist. And I'm actually going to be making a video about that at some point, about kind of feeling trapped in this “Black artist box”. But that's a topic for another time.
For now, let's stay focused. I'm excited to invite y'all out to some events that I'm going to be at. So, the first one is coming up this Saturday. The event is February 18. It's called Through the Eyes of Art. And it's going to be at the MOPOP museum. That's the Museum of pop art that's out here in Seattle. And this is probably my fourth or fifth time doing this art show. I absolutely love it.
I'm invited out by a Hip Hop artist named Draze, who is super dope. He’s a Seattle-native, born and raised. He recently moved out to LA but he loves to feature local artists, fashion designers. spoken word artists, etc. So it's a really fun event from 7pm to 11pm. I am going to have a table set up. So if you want to come out and get some of those prints in person. I'll only have a few. But I'll definitely have more of the Mama’s Gun pins.
So if you ever wanted to get one of those pins, or if you want some more, that's where you can get them because y'all know I am simmering down on shipping out products. But, whenever I come out to a local events, maybe this is the time where I can bring things out and you all can just pick those up at MOPOP. Okay, so definitely make sure y'all join me this Saturday, February 18 at 7pm to 11pm. I would love to see you all there.
The other event that I'm super excited about is called” The Feels” and yall know that I stay in my feelings! So when the coordinator reached out to me about being apart of the show, I was like YES, please. I would love to be apart and it’s at a dope venue in Pioneer Square, which is called the Axis gallery. It's taking place on February 23rd from 6pm to 10pm. That is a Thursday y'all. And it's a free event, anybody can come on out. But there are two options you can do; you can pay $25 or $100 for VIP. VIP is when you get early access to the event, a meet and greet with the featured artists. And that's me, I'm one of the featured artists, we're going to be doing a panel. So you will get reserved seating during that time. And you will also get two drink tickets, one food ticket and also a raffle ticket. It's only 30 tickets left. So I highly recommend if y'all do want to get that VIP experience, definitely come on out. I think the panel is also open to the public too. But I need to clarify that. And when I do clarify it, I'll make sure I put it somewhere in the text of this blogcast episode (info pending). But this is an incredible organization that is doing great work for Black artists in Seattle, as well as they host youth programs and just does so much. I'm gonna drop the links, y'all gonna have to check them out. They're at thefeelsfoundation.org. So even if you can't make it out to the show, if you want to click the link and learn more about them and possibly donate to the cause, I know that they would absolutely love that. But if you are in Seattle on Thursday, February 23, I would love to see you there.
Ya girl is about to get on her consistent flow, she's definitely been running in circles over there on YouTube. Okay, I have really been consistent over there. I've been loving sharing and going deep. So if you love talks like this, if you love actually visually seeing what's going on in the studio, my YouTube channel is the best place to do that. I recently uploaded a video talking about how I gain weight but my higher self said Girl, so what? Love yourself, keep painting and more.
That's the title of that video, where I go into depth about body insecurities, body trends, the fluctuations of the human body, and especially the woman’s body and dealing with some things like that. Especially since I'm painting myself these days, so I'm talking about the process of being an artist and the muse and how that has affected me.
So if you want to hear more about that, I highly recommend that you head on over there to the YouTube channel. What I'm going to be doing over here on the blogcast episodes is making sure I'm cranking them out every Tuesday, just to give you updates of what's going on. I want this to be the global reminder of everything that's taking place. This is the one spot you can come every Tuesday, where I let you know about stuff that's on my YouTube channel, new shows & events that I have going on around Seattle, new stuff that's going on in the shop, and more. This is going to be the home. Okay, so make sure y'all are subscribed via the blog where you can get these in your inbox. You can also follow me on Spotify, because Spotify will notify you when there is a new episode.
Thank you so much, again, for tuning in. So your next stop from here is shop.aohamer.com. And of course a big shout out to my patrons who are always holding me down. Oh, another quick note before we wrap up: I did add another option for you to contribute to my artwork. If membership isn't right for you, if you're not really into Patreon and having a monthly-paying subscription to something, I completely understand that. I added a feature now called Buy Me A Coffee. That's pretty much this one-time payment service where if you like: “Hey girl, I want to support what you're doing. I pretty much already got all your art or don't want any more art at this time. And I just want to contribute to what you're doing.” That is where you can do it over at Buy Me A Coffee. You don't need a login, you don't need a subscription, or anything at all. But that is another way where you can contribute to my expanding creativity. I thank you all so much for being here and I hope you have a fantastic week. We'll talk soon. Oh and Happy Valentine's Day. Sending you all my love 💖 Peace out!
